Speeding Camera
Community,

Shreveport Police have recently contracted with a company to monitor traffic speeds through school zones with a goal to keep our children safe when coming and going from campus. The company, Blue Line Solutions, will pilot the program at ten of our schools at the start of the upcoming school year. They eventually plan to install these cameras in all school zones within city limits.

The cameras have the ability to detect speeding cars, take a photo, then issue a citation in the mail. This work will all be completed by SPD in partnership with Blue Line Solutions and not involve district operations.

The following is a list of the pilot schools selected by SPD and the street where the cameras will be installed:

Caddo Heights Elementary - Linwood Ave.
Caddo Magnet High-Viking Dr.
Captain Shreve High- Kings Hwy.
Creswell Elementary- Highland Ave
Green Oaks High- Thomas E Howard Dr.
Huntington High- Raspberry Lane
Southern Hills Elementary -Kingston Rd
Southwood High - Walker Rd
Woodlawn High- Wyngate Blvd.
Westwood Elementary- Jewella Ave.

This week, parents of the affected pilot schools will receive notice of this initiative and the 30-day warning period which begins August 3. If you have any questions, you may contact Shreveport Police here: ShreveportPDPIO@ShreveportLA.gov
